Packing and Prepping

It seems like the closer I get to leaving the United States, the more I realize I have to do.

Today, I officially matriculated to be a member of the University of St Andrews. What does that mean exactly? I filled out a lot of information online, finished paying my fees, completed a web-class on plagiarism, signed a pledge, and just like that...I'm a member of the St Andrews student body. Of course, there are a few more things I have to do once I arrive on campus to be fully matriculated, but it's still a big step.

Last month, I received my residence hall placement for the spring. To be completely honest, I didn't get the dorm that I wanted by a long-shot. But I'm beginning to look forward to living there nonetheless, even if it is a farther walk from the center of town than I wanted. I'll have my own bedroom AND bathroom (honestly, I'm going to be quite spoiled), which will be fantastic especially for filming vlogs. I will share a kitchen with 9-ish other people on my hall, where I will cook all of my meals. If you have any recipes that are easy to make with few ingredients (particularly vegetarian ones), PLEASE send them my way!

Now that I think about it, it's going to be very similar to my dorm situation at the University of Sussex this past summer, which I adored. (I almost cried when I left it).

From here on out, I'll be working on packing, going to some final appointments, and getting ready to apply to internships for the summer. It seems rather surreal that in less than two weeks, I'll be moved into my residence hall and ready to live in Scotland for the next five months. I'll be checking back in next week to update you on the packing process!
